Stained Marble shower wall

Hi
We seem to have rubbed off some of the surface from our Marble shower wall, probably by rubbing with the wrong cleaner. It now looks as if there is a stain (which I dont think there is).
Can you advise how to get the original shine back and then how to perhaps seal the marble to prevent this happening again?

If your Tiles were Polished then they would need to re-polished to acheive this shine, you can do this with a set of Burnishing pads http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/StoneBurnishingShop.asp you will need a polishing hand held machine as well and the White, Yellow and 6 inch Green pads.
