White chalky stains on Travertine

Asked by Deb Varley from Ponte Vedra Beach: |
Help. I have a natural color travertine tile in my bath and have white chalky stains around the toilet from the toilet bowl cleaner splashing over. Is there a way to get these stains out? |

Travertine is a calcareous stone and Acid sensitive, so some products therefore can stain the Stone, you may not be able to get this out. I would try an Alkaline cleaner such as ProClean http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TileGroutCleaner.html to neutralise the Acid, for the USA I suggest you try a bottle of Aquamix Heavy Duty Tile And Grout Cleaner.
