Breathable Sealer

Asked by Derek Wilson from Herefordshire: I have discovered some very nice Victorian plain red Quary Tiles on the kitchen floor under a covering of Vinyl & self levelling cement. Being a Victorian house it has no under floor damp membrane . Is your " Seal & Go" finish compatable in these circumstances?

TileProf says: Seal and Go http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TD-Seal-Go.html is a breathable sealer that will allow moisture to evaportate up through the tile. For best results make sure the floor is clean and fully dry when the sealer goes down and remains that way for 24 hours, then the sealer will settle, best to seal on a dry couple of days to be sure.
