Fake Slate tiles
Asked by Chris from Weybridge:
Hello We purchased fake slate tiles from a large DIY chain, they were not cheap but now I wished we had paid so much more. When they chip due to dropped forks, cups, or plates, it leaves a light grey or white mark underneath. Is there a dark grey fake tile touch up paint available? Also is there anything I can seal the tiles with to make them a little bit more durable? Thanks
TileProf says:
Difficult to say if your fake Slate Tiles will take a sealer, but if I was to recommend one it would be Tile Doctor Seal and Go, it will lift the colour and give them a sheen, their isn't a touch up pen as far as I know, but the sealer will help all the same. One coat should do it, maybe two at the most. Test a small area first.
