Does Granite need sealing

Hi,I have just had some black granite tiles laid in my kitchen the company I bought it off said that they have been sealed but my tiler is insisting that they need sealing is this the case |

If the Granite is polished then it won't take a sealer too well as the Polish will get in the way, so I would go with the advice from the Tile Shop.
If you have a Matt finish Granite then I would seal them, three coats of Tile Doctor Ultra-seal http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TD-Ultra-Seal.html would do a good job.
