Quarry tiles discovered under carpet

We have some very old quarry tiles which we have discovered under a carpet. The surface is very rough (unlike the matching ones in the hall that were not covered up).
Do we just need to clean them and apply sealant, or do we need something else as well?

You Would require Tile Doctor Pro-clean http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TileGroutCleaner.html to get them clean again, rinse with water after using, then leave to dry a couple of days, afterwards apply 4 coats of Tile Doctor Seal and Go http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TD-Seal-Go.html for a nice low sheen finish.
