Ground in dirt on cream floor tiles

Asked by Kate from Manchester: I have cream, textured ceramic tiles in my dining room. No matter how much I scrub them or how often, then never come clean. They look filthy all the time, even after washing the floor. Is there anything I can use to seal the tiles so that the dirt doesn't get ground in? Also, there is grout left over which I cannot remove. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

TileProf says: As a rule Ceramic Tiles shouldn't need a sealer or be difficult to clean unless an another product applied onto the surface of the Tiles. You did mention thatthere are Grout smears left on the tile so the first thing to do would be to remove this with a Grout Remover such as http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/AcidCleaner.html Failing that then I would say it is time to ask one of our Tile Doctors round to have a look, we cover Manchester so we should have someone near by http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/HomeService.asp Russell Taylor Tile Doctor Ltd
