very stained 70-year old tiles

we have a very old terra cotta floor in a downstairs toilet in a house we've recently moved to. The tiles (9cm x 9cm each)are terribly stained and in spite of brushing and washing never look clean. We would like to restore them.
Please would you advise.

Suggest you use Tile Doctor Pro-clean http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TileGroutCleaner.html mixed 1 to 3 parts warm water and scrub this in, if this doesnt work then you will need a Tile Doctor, contact your nearest using the following link http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/HomeService.asp
