Tiles don't shine any more
Asked by Jackie from Widnes:
I have good quality ceramic tiles in my hall, cloakroom and kitchen which I sweep and mop regularly using ether a multi-surface cleaner,or weak household bleach solution. They look great when they are wet, but dont have that lovely shine when dry. I've thought of using a product for putting a non slip shine'coating' on tiles, but is this a good idea? The tiles were laid about 15 years ago, but are still sound and have no chips or cracks.
gpslancaster says:
Ceramic Tiles as a rule dont take a sealer as they dont have a porous surface, being a glazed Tile as such, However there are exceptions such as a Textured ceramic Tile, which have a stone apearence and need a seal otherwise like stone the dirt can be trapped or caughtbetween the Tile surface. You can try a coat of Tile Doctor Seal and Go for these types of Tiles and Seal and Go will lift the colour and give them a satin finish as well. Best to test if your not sure what type of Ceramic You have within a small area out the way. Russell Taylor Tile Doctor Lancaster
