cement removal from flagstones

Asked by dawson williams from gloucestershire: hi, please can you recommend a product that will remove cement from my interior flagstone floor. it looks like cement has been laid on top to level the floor. could you also recommend a sealer that will give the flags a natural look but will also bring out the beauty of the flags. would really appreciate your help. regards dawson.

gpslancaster says: There isn't a single product that will lift thick cement, it has to be done carefully with a Hammer and Chisel at a 45 degree angle, Once you have the thick part off you will have to use an Acid such as Tile Doctor Grout Clean Up, you can put this on neat and then scrub away at the Grout haze until it starts to lift, rinse with water after using several Times. Once clean and Dry apply 4 coats of Tile Doctor Seal and Go for a nice low sheen finsh and enhanced colour. Russell Taylor Tile Doctor Lancaster
