the stain may have been caused by oil or acid

Asked by Moira Glazebrook from West London: I am not sure how the stain was caused as it happened when I was out of the house.I hate to say this but my neighbours kitten may have had an accident as it goes in a line from one end of the hall to another. Also I have lodgers and they take their food up to their rooms and they may have spelt something oily.I have tried cleaning it but the stains won't come out.Can these tiles be painted as this may be the only solution. Thankyou Moira

gpslancaster says: The Terracotta would have been sealed originally and you will find it is the sealer that is damaged and not the Tile, give them a quick clean, leave them to dry and then apply more of the original sealer. Russell Taylor Tile Doctor Lancaster
