water stains on black matt ceramic tiles on bathrr
Asked by P. Barr from Bowers Gifford, essex:
Any water or fluid that splashes onto bathroom floor stains and won't wash off. The tiles are matt black ceramic.
gpslancaster says:
Sounds that either their is a wax coating still on them from the Factory (stops them scratching against each other in the box) or they could do with a seal, I would try some Tile Doctor Pro-clean, first to give them a good clean, with, this will also get rid of the Water stains and any left over Factory Polish. Then rinse with water only, give them a good scrub, leave to dry, for a day, and then try 1 coat of Tile Doctor Seal and Go on 1 Tile First, see if it drys okay, after 30 minutes it should be dry to the touch, if okay then seal the rest of the Tiles, see link for further info

If the Sealer doesnt Dry and The Tiles feel Tacky (leave the tester for an hour, just to be sure) then these Tiles wont take a sealer (as most Ceramic dont) and to Seal them would only make your matters worse. Russell Taylor Tile Doctor Lancaster
