Recovering a slate floor

Asked by Jayne GLEAVE from Llanharry, S Wales: Hi There, We had a slate floor laid many years ago now and have never been happy with it! Unfortunately when the floor was laid, the slates weren't sealed before the grouting was done, therefore, every time the floor is washed the colour from the slate bleeds into the grout making the floor look dirty, all the time!! We have tried everything to clean up the grout and re-seal the floor but nothing has worked. At the moment we are thinking of trying to chip the grout out (but its like concrete!) or just taking it all up!! Do you have any ideas for us? Yours in anticipation, Jayne Gleave
