Old tiles-need cleaning!

Asked by Natalie from Coventry: |
We have original tiles from 1935 in our hallway-nit sure exactly what they are made of, they are mainly terracotta in colour with a design around the edge of White brown & yellow small tiles. It has been covered by carpet for years & has some glue from the carpet gripper on & some old paint stains. We want to restore it ourselves to save money but not sure what to use? |

Hi There,
Sounds like your Tiiles are Late Victorian Tiles rather than Terra-cotta, the only time I have seen these type of Tiles in an old house is in an Arts and Craft house which even fro them are quite rare.
Click below and see if the info listed is any good for you to do it yourself
