tiles coated with bitumen

Asked by Jeremy Lloyd from Wales: We have victorian floor tiles in the hallway which have been painted with what looks like bitumen. We have tried caustic soda to no avail. The only thing that seems to start to remove the substance is thinners but obviously we can't use them in a confined space. Do you have any product which may remove this substance? Cheers.

TileProf says: Hi Jeremy, We have a product called Remove and Go, its a paint stripper as well as a sealer remover, so it does have a smell to it, best to use a facemask so as you dont get upset by the smell.
