Hi Shaun,
Wouldnt recomend Sandpapaer, best to use a Chemical called Remove and Go and another one mixed with it called Nano-tech ultra-clean.
Apply and leave in place for an hour and then brsuh and vac this up with a wet vac machine, if some product is stillevident use a wall paper steamer to help get it to the surface.
