Acid marks
Asked by Iain Campbell from Portsmouth:
Hi, a subcontractor has recently treated our tiled floor with an anti-slip product, but it has left blotchy marks all over the place. It looks like it's been splashed around and not been cleaned off or spread out properly. Re-tiling isn't really an option, as it's over a very large area. We've scrubbed the floor, buffed the floor and cleaned it over and over all to no avail. Is there a product, such as an acid, wax or polish that may help to disguise these marks a little? Many thanks
TileProf says:
Hi Iain, Not sure which products the contractor used but if they could have done permanent damage to your Tiles, if this problem hasnt dispapeared after at least a month, Mostly all ANti-slip products use an etching systme which is an Acid based formula, this ethces your Tiles and this is what stops you slipping used correctly there isnt a problem used incorrectly then there is as no amount of cleaning will aleivate this problem.
