Hi Andrew,
If your Tiles are Ceramic and Porcelain then you cant polish < grind > them donw without damaging them, if your Tilesa are a Slte or stone then this can be achieved, but you will need a Tile Doctor with the machinery and the know how on how to do this for you, click below for more info on this.
