Stained gres tiles

Asked by Elaine GATT from Malta: I had a new floor put in with grey colored Matt gres tiles. They were initially cleaned with a mixture of white vinegar and water to remove initial residue. They seem to be getting permanently stained more and more each day. It is as though they are porous. Is there any way to get rid of these extra stubborn stains and restore tiles to what they should look like. I am desperate

TileProf says: Hi Elaine, We often find Commercail Porcealin Tiles are sold at a Domsetic location, these Tiles are cleaned with a Scrubber drier machine every night and they always come up looking good again, the problem is you wont have this machinery in your house and this can lead to a high maintenace floor Tile, it sounds like this is your lot and Im sure a lot of our Customers will have the same problem. Personally I would take the matter up with the Tile shop and get them to send the Agent out from the Tile Manufacturer, the more peolpe who do this will hopefully stop the Retailer from selling these Tiles in a Domestic enviroment.
