thick cement and bitumen
Asked by Jane & Isabel from York:
We have chipped and scraped a lot of cement and bitumen off our quarry tiled kitchen floor, but there are still areas where we cannot get it off. We have tried a cement remover, which gets the thin layers off but how would you suggest getting the thick 2-3mm off that won't chip or scrape?
TileProf says:
Hi Jane, Not an easy one, I would maybe try some of our Remove and Go mixed 50/50 with Nano-tech ultra clean, apply and leave it for a couple of hours, so it can have neough time to break down the Bitumne, then rinse and scrub the Tiles with a deck brush or a roitary machine and whatever is left I would vac up using a wet vac. If there is still some remanat Bitumen left over I would then use a Wall paper steamer left in place for a minute each time until it lifts the old bitumne to the surfcae ehich can then be scrubbed and vaxed off. See link below for more info on cleaning and sealing Quarry Tiles. Regards Russell at Tile Doctor http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/QuarryTile.html
