grounting discolouration
Asked by Theresa Hamblen from Hampshire:
I have only every washed the floor with mild washing up liquid, but the area that get the most traffic the grouting has become very dark. We have tried re-grouting and re-sealing, but has not made it any better.
TileProf says:
Hi Theresa, If the Grout is to low down from the surface of the Tile then you will find this will act as a resevoir for the muck to stick into, if this matter is resloved then we find sealing them with a stroong grout sealer such as Grout seal and go will keep the dirt form penetrating into the grout pores, also dont use a washing up liquid for cleaning Tiles with as this will be slightly acidic and will damage the selaer overtime, us instead a Ph Neutral cleaner such as Tile Doctor concentrated Tile Cleaner.
