cracking on tiles
Asked by shirley fielder from todmorden:
We have under floor heating gas/water and they are cracking in straight lines it looks as though it could be on the line of heating pipes. It started at one side of the room and moving across. These were supplied a rep and were fitted by the man who was recomended by him who does swimming pools for the company. This has been slowly covering the whole of the floor, and need it sorting. This was a insurance claim as we had had a fire in the kitchen and the firemen scretched the one which were down.
TileProf says:
Hi Shirley, Sounds like The Tiler didnt use a good quality flexible adhesive and Grout, this sint something Tile Doctor can help with as all the damaged Tiles will need to taken out and replaced, the only trouble with that is Limestone is a Natural product and you may not get a matching tone, same thing can happen with ceramic and Porcealin due to batch variations and if thats the case the whole floor would need to be relaid, this would be a job for a fully qualified Tile Doctor though as we only offer small repairs with our regular cleaning and sealing activities.
