Sealing stripped terracotta and matching new grout

Asked by Phil from Newcastle upon Tyne : |
Hi, we have extended a terracotta kitchen floor with tiles we had left over from 15 years ago by about 20% area. The floor was originally linseed oil and beeswax. The original floor has been cleaned with a lithofin stripper to remove dirt and wax. The extra new tiles had already been treated same way and have stripped wax off. We have matched up sandstone grout with original but new grout brighter colour. 3 questions; can I apply seal and go or am I stuck with wax? Should we try and treat old grout to brighten or should we try to make smaller area of new grout look older? Do you have a tile doctor in our area? |

Hi Phil,
You can use Seal and Go provided all of the old sealer/ wax is removed for the Clay otherwise you may get a pachy tacky finish.
Grout colouring works well, but again you need to make sure the old grout is cleaned properly first.
