grout sealer for ceramic tiles

Asked by David Hall from Cardiff: |
I have ceramic tiles on the kitchen floor and wish to seal the grout between them. unfortunately i have used the unibond premade black grout to 'top up' over the old grey grout which was badly stained. therefore it is now a thin sandy layer of unibond. Is there a product which will protect this thin layer of grout whilst making it look abit blacker and shinier ? I don't think the ceramic tiles need sealing but is there some sort of polish/shine which will make them look better and hide the sandyness of the grout?
Thanks. |

Hi David,
I doubt the top up grout will stay in long enough for you to work anything else onto it, as Grout needs to be at least 6mm deep for it to have any strength to it to stick overwise it just crumbles away, but if it has taken I would try a Black Grout Colourant, it wont make it wet look, I dont know of a product which will but you will at least get the colour you require.
